RPA Background

The Review of Public Administration was launched by the Northern Ireland Executive in June 2002 with the aim of revitalising public services in education, health and local government. Two public consultations were carried out during 2003-2005, with the final decisions on RPA announced by Direct Rule Ministers on 22 November 2005.

Details of the key decisions made in relation to RPA can be found on the RPA website, including a statement from Arlene Foster, Minister for the Environment, on the current status of local government in the Review of Public Administration.
