Agreement reached on ‘direction of travel’ towards Convergence
The Convergence Programme Management Board (PMB) held its fifth meeting on 14th December.
Members have been working together over the past few months to discuss, review and inform plans for the convergence of education services on a regional basis across all five ELBs.
PMB has now reached agreement on the overall direction of travel towards convergence. Seán Hogan (ESA Chair designate) and Gavin Boyd (ESA CEO designate) attended meetings with the Board members in the individual ELBs to seek wider agreement on the way ahead.
Each Education and Library Board has now indicated that they are content with the direction of travel towards convergence but noted that agreement on converging specific services would be subject to consideration of specific plans.
Development work on the detailed plans for the convergence of the CASS and Education Welfare Services is well underway. Plans for the convergence of other services will be announced shortly.
Comments:
Agreement reached on ‘direction of travel’ towards Convergence. All this article says it that there is agreement that everyone should agree in the future. It does not provide the tax payer or ordinary workers in the education community with any useful information.
