Guidance set out on decisions for the location of ESA jobs

The ESA Implementation Team has written to Chief Executives of the education sector RPA affected organisations to clarify the process by which future decisions will be made on the location of jobs in the new Education and Skills Authority.

In November 2007, the Minister for Finance and Personnel, Peter Robinson, published ‘A Framework to Underpin Decisions on the Location of Public Sector Jobs resulting from the Review of Public Administration‘. The document sets out the steps to be taken to ensure a robust and consistent approach to all future decision making in this area.

The framework is part of a two-pronged approach agreed by the Executive on future decisions on the location of public sector jobs:

The framework will be examined as part of the policy review and therefore may change as a result of the final outcome. However, the Executive has agreed that, in the interim, it should be applied to any decisions being made about the location of RPA related bodies.
