Meetings of the Consultative Group for Financial and Accounting Systems project
Members and representatives of the Consultative Group have held two meetings to discuss the Financial and Accounting Systems project.
At a meeting on 20 November 2007 at the Antrim Board Centre, the two issues under discussion were Accounting for Fixed Assets and Use of Summary Accounts. The discussions were very useful and resulted in agreement on the way forward on each issue.
A further meeting was held on 8 January 2008 at ESAIT premises in Forestview, where there was a lively and informative discussion on Electronic Procurement, with a range of views being expressed. This was followed by a discussion on the best method of accounting for accruals, which resulted in a consensus.
In line with the terms of reference of the group, final papers will be produced reflecting the full range of opinions. These papers will be discussed at a meeting of the full Consultative Group and will be used to inform the final decision of the Programme Board.
