Message from Gavin Boyd, Chief Executive (Designate) - July 10th 2007
In my monthly update in June, I explained how I intend to expand and build the Implementation Team by drawing in staff from legacy education organisations on a seconded basis. I am keen to drawn on the extensive range of skills and experience within the education sector as we move the reform agenda forward.
We have had a busy few weeks conducting interviews for a number of key project management posts within the Education and Skills Authority Implementation Team (ESAIT). I have been very encouraged by the interest shown in these posts from across the education sector and the quality of the candidates who have applied.
I am pleased to confirm the following appointments:
- John Curran (SELB) has been appointed Human Resources Project Manager.
- Robert Shilliday (CCEA) has been appointed Communications Project Manager.
- Jocelyn Wallace (CCMS) has been appointed as my Personal Secretary.
- Patrick McAuley (CCEA) will take up a post within the Recruitment Unit.
A number of other appointments are in the process of being confirmed with the respective organisations and I will announce these shortly.
I would like to congratulate all the successful candidates and I look forward to them becoming part of ESAIT. I would also like to thank all of the other applicants, and I look forward to working with them in the future. Over the summer months we will be taking forward work in each of the project areas and we intend to issue further secondment notices for project team members by the start of September.
In addition, I am currently considering the responses received on the draft 2nd Tier Structures Paper to inform the final structures paper which will go to DE for approval. We have also consulted with our education partners on a draft Competency Framework and I look forward to receiving comments on the framework by the end of July.
We will keep this website updated with our progress over the next few months. I wish you all a pleasant summer break!
